Applications close midnight, Friday 23 February 2024

Ideal start date: April 2024

Working closely with the Director, the Curator will gain critical curatorial and project management experience through playing a primary role in the research and delivery of exhibitions, publications, offsite projects, and events at The Physics Room.

This is a development role: the Curator will be supported to critically develop their curatorial practice, as well as to learn about and actively contribute to all daily operations within a small arts organisation. The Curator will be offered professional development opportunities as they arise.

The Curator is also responsible for coordination of gallery communications, in dialogue with other team members. The ideal applicant is passionate about the role of art in a social and political context, and has at least 1–2 years work experience in the sector. They are keen to develop their curatorial practice working directly with artists, and to build and sustain strong relationships with artists and the wider community.

Please send a cover letter outlining your relevant experience, interest in the role, samples of recent projects including writing, and CV, to Abby Cunnane at abby@physicsroom.org.nz.
