With summer approaching, the artists of Clevedon are getting ready to welcome visitors to the Clevedon Art Trail Open Studios for another year. They’ve been busy creating artwork and gearing up for this popular annual event, now in its eighth year. The event takes place over the weekend of 16–17 March 2024, but the fun begins a day earlier with the Art Trail Exhibition, opening on Friday 15 March from 5–8pm at Hallertau Brewery in Clevedon.

Situated just a half-hour drive from the heart of Auckland, the Clevedon Art Trail is a self-driven journey through idyllic rural landscapes. Along the route, a variety of live artist demonstrations, immersive workshops and exhibitions are taking place, all within easy reach in Clevedon and free to visit. The participating artists include James Wright and Cheryl Wright, Gracie Matthews, Frank Watson, Helen Morrison, Katie Blundell, Ana Ter Huurne and Toni Mosley, with further presentations at Clevedon Creatives + Co, the Clevedon Art Group, The Wild Fermentary and Riverhaven Artland.

There will be opportunities to make monotypes, try vintage hand-crank sewing techniques and enjoy refreshments at local cafés and breweries. The Clevedon Art Trail is supported and funded by the Franklin Local Board and the Auckland Council;  look out for more updates early in the year.
