Heinz Sobiecki @ Photospace Gallery

Heinz Sobiecki emigrated to Aotearoa New Zealand from Germany in the early 1960s and became one of the first commercial fashion photographers working here. After retiring from commercial photography early this century, Heinz began showing his personal photography, both contemporary and historical, with his first solo exhibition at Photospace Gallery in 2003.

66+ may be his final exhibition and will include samples of fashion and personal photography from the 1960s and ’70s along with recent images. Heinz has produced most of his work on film and in the darkroom and moved into digital photography relatively recently. The exhibition title refers to the number of years he has been an active photographer.
