Anton Lambaart @ Moray Gallery

In Nothing Changes, Anton Lambaart continues his exploration of the emotional landscape of men in the 21st century, drawing on the Quattrocento and the visual language of the 15th-century Italian Renaissance.

The exhibition comprises intimate tronies—studies of character and expression rather than portraits of identifiable individuals. Moving between dominance, remoteness and reserve, the paintings connect historical representations of masculinity with contemporary male vulnerability, asking how much of male behaviour is learned and how much is innate.
