Auckland Regional Parks Residency invites applications from experienced and adventurous artists who will flourish working in a park environment. They seek innovative proposals which are inspired by some aspect of Waitawa Regional Park, near Kawakawa Bay in Franklin. The residency is eight weeks-long, across October–November 2024. The successful applicant will receive an artist’s fee to contribute to materials and equipment.
The aim of the residency is to:
- support artistic endeavours in Auckland regional parks
- share the art created to highlight overlooked or undervalued aspects of the regional parks
- raise awareness of the regional park as a place of interest and inspiration.
We welcome applications from:
- photographers
- printmakers
- painters
- sculptors
- film makers
- installation artists
- composers
- writers
- poets
- choreographers
- and other creatives
Deadline and application:
Proposals are due by 21 February 2024 and results will be notified in March 2024.
