Sean Hill, Sequencergy

8 March – 12 April 2025

Sequencergy is a solo exhibition that combines sequence and energy through interactive shifting pallets and sculptures. The artworks, made from refurbished materials, invite the audience to engage both physically and visually. Each piece will transform within the gallery, with 2D and 3D elements merging to create an immersive experience. The shifting pallets reveal hidden layers, playing with perspective and abstract art, while geometric sculptures explore new forms of architecture. The exhibition reflects community connections, using local materials and vibrant colors. Sequencergy showcases how energy and sequence can transform the gallery space and connect viewers to art in innovative ways.

Sean Hill is a multidisciplinary artist of Kiwi/Samoan descent based in Taranaki Ngamotu. With an Honours degree in Visual Arts, Sean’s practice focuses on conceptual exploration, using movement, colour, texture, and materials to express energy in physical form. His work reflects the transformation of internal emotions into external visual language, often through abstract representations. Drawing inspiration from nature, Samoan culture, abstract and architectural forms, Sean’s art is playful and experimental, frequently using refurbished pallet wood as canvases. His evolving practice embraces rhythmic, intuitive processes, reimagining physical objects and heritage to explore interconnectedness and constant transformation in both art and life.
