Group Show: ROKC THE MOON @ Anna Miles Gallery

ROKC THE MOON brings together work by Peter Hawkesby, Reece King and Tyrone Te Waa at Anna Miles Gallery.

Peter Hawkesby has worked with ceramics since the 1970s, developing an approach that departed from the wheel-thrown utilitarian pottery dominant at the time. After a long hiatus from exhibiting, he returned to full-time ceramic practice in 2015. His recent work continues an extensive engagement with ceramic form and material.

Reece King works primarily in painting. Raised at Te Henga Bethells Beach on the west coast of Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland, he was awarded the Frances Hodgkins Fellowship at the University of Otago Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka in 2025. His work has been shown at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki and is held in several public collections.

Tyrone Te Waa (Ngāti Tūwharetoa) works across sculpture, installation and body adornment, often using found and gifted materials that are bound, knotted, felted and wrapped. His recent exhibitions include projects at Toi Tauranga Art Gallery, Te Whare o Rehua Sarjeant Gallery, Objectspace and Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki.

ROKC THE MOON was presented at Anna Miles Gallery from 26 September to 24 October 2026.
